      1. Stations- Readers work together to answer task card questions on response sheets.

      2. Scavenger Hunt- Readers search for task cards hidden around the room, getting readers up and moving, while responding to the text.

      3. Google Form Response Contest- Readers work together to submit an answer to task card/s using Google Classroom.

      4. Sub Plans- Readers don’t need to lose out on a day of comprehension and lit analysis because you aren’t there. Task cards have questions ready-to-go with an answer key available.

      5. Sticky Hands- Readers spread out task cards upside down, tossing a sticky hand on the cards to pick the one they are responding to on a response sheet.

      6. Lit Leaderboard- Readers write on task cards & compete for points with best response for a specific lit device category. You’re the judge! Hang them up in your room for examples and student pride!

      7. Lit Gallery Walk- Readers walk around the room answering task cards placed in various places, giving them a break and movement in between thinking.

      8. Fly Swatter- Readers smack the smartboard with flyswatters (old-school style) to choose the task cards to answer. The task cards are spread out under the doc camera or displayed with Google Slides.

      9. Laminate Task Cards- Readers write with dry erase markers on task cards to mix it up!

      10. Debate- Readers discuss and debate a task card by moving to a side of the room to choose their response/opinion. Of course they’ll need to justify or give text evidence for why they are in that spot of the room.

      11. Scoot- Readers scoot from one task card to another that are placed on desks around the room. Readers get a time limit for each question and write down their answers on the response sheet.

      12. Draw a Number- Readers pick a number out of a hat or an online tool to draw the task card the class works on responding to.

      13. Early Finishers- Readers finishing early when reading a chapter? Give them task cards to complete and stay challenged!

      14. Jeopardy- Readers pick a task card question from Google Slides in a Jeopardy-style game already included with some novel study task cards!

      15. Headbands- Readers pick a task card from the headband game to answer, taking turns picking cards and responding to the text.

      16. Exit Ticket- Readers answer a task card question as your lesson comes to an end to check comprehension.

      17. Choice Board- Readers choose the card they want to answer.

      18. Review- Readers review a chapter with task cards, even as a warm-up the next day to get the ball rolling from a previous discussion or reading.

      19. DIY Bingo- Readers fill in possible answers to the task card questions on a blank bingo card. Readers pick the answer to task card questions you display.

      20. Adding On- Readers take turns adding on to open ended task cards or text evidence dependent task cards on the Google Slides version of the task cards by writing responses on the smart board.
