Hi, it’s so wonderful to meet you! I am here to help you capture the power and the literary devices within your favorite (or least favorite) novel studies without sacrificing your personal time & energy.
Teaching is one of those professions that can completely drain you due to all the demands and the lack of time. Trust me, I’ve been there. What happens as a result? You use your nights and weekends to get ready for the next week, sacrificing your much needed time to take care of your family and yourself.
I see you!
I have taught for 18+ years in a mixture of grade levels between 3rd-6th grade. I have probably planned thousands of discussions over the years…always attempting to plan activities that are more meaningful than those that come in a curriculum guide. Never leaving well enough alone.
Like so many of you, I wear many teaching hats. I currently teach and facilitate an enrichment reading and math program for 3rd-5th graders in my school. I have also helped to develop the enrichment program our district uses from the ground up. Giving me a ton of opportunity to create, design, and build a program that truly challenges readers. It’s been an adventure to say the least and has introduced me to the world of instructional design & curriculum writing.
While reading and developing novel study resources are definitely my jam, my true joy is the story I am building at home with my husband (who is also a teacher) and our three daughters. This mama is fueled by reading, road trips, dance parties, summertime, and coffee of course!
Connect with me. Tell me what you look for in a novel study resource or what book you are working on next with this Google Form. I love connecting with fellow reading teachers!
