Between Josef slapping his father to snap him out of his despair temporarily, to Isabel trying desperately to save Señor Castillo from drowning, and then of course Mahmoud getting thrown into the sea from the “boat”.
There’s so much to discuss and so many literary devices to be found within these three chapters not to mention ALL the chances to develop the three main characters!
Whenever the conflicts increase, the character development takes off!
